Natalie Campbell

Acting Associate Principal & EC Team Leader/Teacher

I am an experienced primary and early childhood teacher who is excited to be part of the dedicated staff at Mosman Park Primary School. Prior to MPPS, I taught for 11 years at North Cottesloe Primary School where I also enjoyed my time as a member of their school board. I am committed to being part of school improvement, and my passion is for developing quality teaching and learning practices across year levels. I have a special interest in evidence-based literacy practices.

I administrate a large online network of 50,000 Australian and New Zealand teachers that promotes research aligned literacy instruction in schools. I have presented many times to West Australian and Australia wide audiences on topics such as Reading Instruction, Digital Classroom Planning, K-2 Literacy Practices, School Literacy Planning and effective Early Childhood Practices.

Recently MPPS offered me the chance to complete the Shenton Network Future Leaders course. My leadership project led to more efficient and accurate assessment of reading P-6 at MPPS. I have also completed Professional Learning on Instructional Coaching, and I have time allocated to coach colleagues in quality teaching practices.

My husband, Ian Campbell, works for The Boonderu Foundation providing free music lessons to at-risk and Aboriginal students. He currently teaches at MPPS twice a week, and we are both passionate about providing the best opportunities for our First Nations students. I regularly attend our Aboriginal Homework Club and I am a member of our Reconciliation Action Plan Committee.

I have lived in Mosman Park since 1998 and my husband and three sons all attended MPPS. We are very involved in our local community especially the Mosman Park Senior Football Club! I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to contribute to our unique school.
