Mosman Park students go to air

To raise awareness for Indigenous Literacy Week and celebrate Noongar heritage and culture, students from Years 2 and 4 participated in the Noongar Radio Writing Project.

The aim of the project was to have as many children as possible submit poems and stories, with selected children chosen to have their work recorded and heard on Noongar Radio. Students from Mrs Smallbone's Year 4 class and Ms Davis's Year 2 class were very excited to find out that not only had their work been selected but Noongar Radio was coming to the school!

The students greeted Bernadette Little and Josephine Baron-Hay Ford from Noongar Radio, who then recorded all the students reading their poems and narratives. Josephine and Bernadette were very impressed by the confidence and enthusiasm of the students, ensuring recording went smoothly.

Stay tuned to find out exactly when the poetry will be aired on Noongar Radio, 101.9FM.
